Clacton Fountain switch off (now Fenced off)The authority yesterday revealed potential guidelines that could be introduced have forced the fountain to stay switched off for the “foreseeable future”. It turned off the feature on July 31 after concerns were raised about the effectiveness of disinfection control equipment. A Health Protection Agency expert has now made the council aware of new draft guidance for water features due to be published later this year. The council is also taking advice from a technical consultant on the issue.
