 Platforms

There are two platforms currently at Thorpe-Le-Soken. They are both situated on an island platform only accessible by a footbridge. There is a clearly visible platform and trackbed on what would be platform 3. This is continuous with the stations on the Walton branch line, Kirby Cross, Frinton and Walton. One of the double tracks that were originally on the line to Walton has been completely taken up.

Service Patterns Typical Off-Peak Services are as Followed;

Westbound

  • 1tph to Liverpool Street
  • 1tph to Colchester via Colchester Town

Eastbound

  • 1tph to Clacton-on-sea
  • 1tph To Walton-on-the-Naze

Interchanges at Thorpe are always with a same direction connection. For example if you leave a Clacton-bound train at Thorpe a Walton-on-the-Naze Service is at platform 2. Waiting for a service to Colchester Town takes another half an hour and vice versa with the London bound services, which is annoying when you want to get to Walton From Clacton
